An electronic treatment, associated chiefly with the synthesizer and the electric guitar, applied to a signal to give the impression of a multitude of voices. It is based on the use of several parallel delay lines, each with a random variation of delay time centred on 30-40 ms, the chorus effect is used, as its name suggests, to create the impression of multiple sound sources from a ’solo’ input.
